At Ulbroka High School, senior students will study remotely for half of their study time

At Ulbroka Secondary School, senior students will study half of the study time remotely, according to information published on the website of Stopiņi County Council.

Starting the school year, it is planned to implement Model B of the study process at Ulbroka Secondary School. Pupils studying from 1st to 6th grade will be taught in person. In turn, 50% of the study process will take place in person for 7th – 12th grade students. To do this, grades 7-9 will be studied remotely for one week, grades 8 and 10-12 will be studied remotely the following week, and the like.

Information about changes in the organization of the study process will be provided to parents after August 20. The municipality asks parents who use the school bus to buy reusable face masks for their children in good time.

It has already been reported that in the new school year, the learning process will be organized in person at the educational institution, but a number of precautionary requirements will need to be met, including streamlining the flow of learners decided by the government.

The Ministry of Education and Science (MES) and the State Education Content Center have informed that the organization of studies from the next school year is planned in three models. At present, it is considered that from September 1, studies in all educational institutions in Latvia take place in person, and this is model A, if the epidemiological situation is similar to now.

The amendments supported by the government stipulate that also in this case, if necessary, the educational process may be partially implemented remotely, for example, one day a week to ensure distance learning, such as filling and sharing of common areas and student flow purpose.

The Ministry of Education and Science points out that this condition in general education institutions is applicable only to grades 7–12, taking into account the age of the learner and participation in the self-directed learning process. Accordingly, in vocational education institutions such a solution is possible in all courses and groups.

At the same time, in order to successfully implement the learning process, the head of the educational institution will have to determine the procedures for the organization of teaching and teachers’ work, including the channels of communication with the learners and their parents.
