With an affinity for technology and completely at home in the digital world, Malte Giesen works in an interdisciplinary manner at the interface of instrumental composition, electronics and other arts. The studio of the Academy of Arts on Hanseatenweg in Berlin-Moabit, which Giesen has headed since 2021, also embodies such an interface. Traditional lines of electronic music from East and West cross here, and rarities from very different phases of the history of technology are available to artists who work here.
