It was just before the pride parade was to start in Wilton Manors, that a pickup skidded across the road and drove into the crowd, according to Local10.
Police officer Ali Adamson later told reporters that the police are keeping all possibilities open.
– As far as I know, it was an accident. This was not an attack on the LGBTQ community. We are waiting for more details and ask for the community’s love and support, says Adamson.
The parade canceled
According to the police, one man is dead, while the condition is critical for another. A third man is expected to survive, according to Trantalis. The driver has been arrested and taken into custody, but it is unclear if he is charged with anything.
Both the driver and the victim were members of a local choir for gay men, according to a statement from the choir’s leader Justin Knight.
A male driver has been arrested.
Several injured were lying on the street after the attack.
