After a subsidence which impacted the Soudon bridge in Lamentin on November 8, traffic is re-established this Thursday, December 23 at around 3 p.m.

A relief for motorists forced to take a detour for several weeks, following the collapse of part of the Soudon bridge in Lamentin. In a press release, Serge Letchimy, the president of the Executive Council of the Territorial Collectivity of Martinique, announces a reopening this Thursday, December 23, one month before the date initially planned. He praised the “efficiency and professionalism” of the agents of the technical services of the CTM.

“Your work made it possible that in record time, ie 46 days after the start of the works, users could once again travel on this major road axis. »As a reminder, the repair work started on November 8 and cost the community € 437,813.16 including tax.

Work to protect the bank and rework the upstream backfill will continue later. In the meantime, traffic will be carried out temporarily with two lanes reduced by 3 meters, a speed limited to 50 km / h in the area of works and a tonnage limit set at 30 tonnes.
