ASUS | Zenfone 7 and 7 Pro: characteristics, cameras and differences between cell phones

Part of the identity of a phone it lies in those unique conditions that separate it from the rest of the market. In 2019, ASUS decided to add a peculiar mechanism to its Zenfone 6: a rotating camera that is accommodated by a motorized mechanism at the top of the screen and allows the use of the main sensors on the front face. This year, the Taiwanese firm reaffirms the concept with two new teams: the Zenfone 7 and 7 Pro.

In this generation, ASUS decides to propose two teams with very similar specifications:

Same size: 165.1 x 77.3 x 9.6 mm and 230 grams of weight

Same screen: 6.67 ”AMOLED FullHD + with 90Hz refresh rate and 200Hz touch response

Same camera system: 64MP main and 1.8 aperture, 12Mp wide angle and 113 degrees with focus for macro and a 3X 8MP telephoto lens.

Same OS: Android 10 with ZenUI 7

Same battery: 500 mAh with 30 Watts of fast charging and Power Delivery 3.0

The differences lie in the processor (865 for the 7 and 865+ for the Pro), the RAM (6 h 8GB vs 8 en Pro), el storage (128GB versus 256GB) and the inclusion of a Optical stabilization on the 7 Pro model cameras.

One of the positive elements in this new generation of Zenfone is the inclusion of a panel OLED de 90 Hz and aspect ratio 20: 9 with coverage of the 110% of the DCI-P3 color range and Delta E value less than one. This panel achieves 700 nights of brightness and provides support for HDR10 +.

In the case of cameras, the sensors IMX656 for the main sensor and IMX363 for the wide angle allow a great entry of light. In this case, the camera module, or “Flip Camera”, you can move manually and achieve different angles, but ASUS supplements the setup with presets for module tuning.

The 64MP main sensor can take photos by making a bining 4 pixels into one and acquire more detail in the pixel. We still have no reference to the photographs that the team can take, but the September 1 we will know more details when the firm makes the official launch and starts the sale of the equipment.
