Astros pitcher suspended 80 games for doping

The launcher of the Houston Astros Kent Emanuel was suspended for MLB for 80 games without pay, after testing positive for a banned substance that improves performance during a test doping.

According to a report by Brian McTaggart for MLB, the substance for which Emanuel positive is Dehydrochlormethyltestosterone (DHCMT). The substance is also known as turinabol and according to the World Andi-doping is an Anabolic Agent and a substance that is prohibited under any circumstances in MLB.

Kent Emanuel is part of the 40-man roster of the Houston Astros, but was not included in the group of 60 to play the 2020 season of MLB.

The 28-year-old left-hander has yet to make his debut in MLB. In 2019, in the Triple-A minor leagues roung Rocks had 8 games won, 2 lost, 3.90 ERA and 81 strikeouts.

The Houston Astros have not given statements on the positive for doping of Kent Emanuel.

This is certainly a heavy blow to Astros, they already have the image quite stained on MLB since an investigation of Big leagues revealed the use of electronic devices to steal signs to opposing pitchers and then communicate pitches to all players using a trash can.
