Astrid Holleeder prefers not to watch her daughter Miljuschka Witzenhausen when she is on television. She tells that in the new podcast Family secrets, in which mother and daughter talk to each other.
“You never want to watch anything I’m in,” Witzenhausen says to her mother. “Well, I never want to watch anything … it always makes me very tense”, Holleeder responds. “I’m always afraid that someone will say something bad to you. Then I can’t do anything for you. I think that’s terrible.”
“Then you are back Jinek and then I think: if all those people are just a little nice to you. You always see those awful things there, with all those programs, “she continues.
Still, Holleeder is behind Witzenhausen’s choice to appear on television. “I think it’s fantastic that you started doing something with something you love so much, cooking. That you just do what you want and what you are good at.”
“That is the only thing I have asked of you”, says 54-year-old Holleeder. “When you do something, you have to give yourself the maximum. But whether you had become a vet or whatever, that would have been all the same for me.”
The first episode of Family secrets from. The idea for the podcast arose after Witzenhausen offered her followers to ask her mother questions about her eponymous book from 2019. The book is about life with her criminal brother, Willem Holleeder.
