Six people were arrested in the case of an attempt on the life of the head of state. Among them are two French soldiers.
An assassination attempt was being prepared on the President of Madagascar, Andri Radzuelina. Several people, “foreigners and Malagasy”, were detained on charges of a “state crime”. This was stated by the Attorney General of Madagascar Bertin Razafiarivuni, writes Radio France International.
Among the detainees are two military men – the Franco-Malagasy Paul Rafanoharana and the Frenchman Philippe Francois. They allegedly planned the assassination of “major political figures”, including the president.
A total of six people were arrested. According to the prosecutor, the conspiracy was in preparation.
