Ansan’s new coach, Choo Min Guk, had stated that he would put Asnawi in the attacking position next season.
In addition to tactical needs, seeing Asnawi’s ability to appear offensive, Min Guk also feels that placing the 22-year-old in the attack line will increase Ansan’s attractiveness in the eyes of Indonesian fans.
Asnawi joined Ansan in February 2021 and was awarded a one-year contract with the option of an additional year.
Last season Asnawi played 14 matches with Ansan and recorded one assist. In addition to having to be absent for defending the Indonesian national team, Asnawi also briefly pulled out of the Ansan squad due to injury.
