Celebrity Ashanty positive detected Covid-19 Omicron variant after returning from vacation in Turkey. Ashanty, who initially underwent quarantine at the hotel as a condition for foreign travelers, was immediately evacuated to a hospital according to regulations.
Head of the Public Communications Division of the Covid-19 Task Force (Satgas) Hery Trianto revealed Ashanty’s chronology which was confirmed to have been exposed to the SARS-CoV-2 variant B.1.1.529 or the Omicron variant after returning from Turkey.
Hery said that according to the procedure for each arrival of Indonesian non-Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI), they must be checked by RT PCR by the local Airport Port Health Office (KKP). To prevent accumulation, Ashanty’s family was invited to a quarantine hotel while waiting for the results of the PCR test which did not come out instantly.
“Well, so that there is no buildup, once they are finished they are welcome to go to the hotel. Because the PCR results are 2-3 hours. So when the patient is positive, he is already at the hotel, either in a centralized quarantine area or in quarantine hotels,” Harry said to CNNIndonesia.com, Friday (7/1).
Then, Ashanty’s RT PCR test results showed that he was positive for Covid-19. According to the procedure, Ashanty was then taken to a Covid-19 referral hospital, moreover, Ashanty’s S Gene Target Failure (SGTF) results showed that he was exposed to Omicron. However, he did not mention where exactly Ashanty is being treated at this time.
“He was caught from Omicron, there should have been results,” continued Hery.
Meanwhile, the rest of Ashanty’s family tested negative for Covid-19. However, the Task Force will continue to monitor them for the next 3-4 days. Currently Ashanty’s family is still undergoing quarantine at the hotel.
