Asahi Kasei Europe combines sales, marketing and research activities in the port of Düsseldorf

The office building has spacious office and meeting rooms with a clear view of the waterfront and the Düsseldorf skyline. In the brand new showroom, the company will be showing its materials and solutions for the automobile of the future, from sustainable microfiber materials for seat and headlining linings in the interior to innovative foam products and separators for battery applications. The adjacent hall building houses the Asahi Kasei Europe R&D Center with laboratories for various materials such as engineering plastics, synthetic rubber, battery and coating materials. “The new office space will further promote cross-departmental communication within Asahi Kasei Europe, but also cross-organizational communication with other European companies in the Asahi Kasei Group. Of course, this will also be beneficial for our customers, ”adds Tsutsumi.

Strong commitment to the Düsseldorf location

After the founding of Asahi Kasei Europe and Asahi Kasei Microdevices Europe at the “Am Seestern” location in Düsseldorf in April 2016, the companies have greatly expanded their business activities in the automotive sector. In October 2017, the Asahi Kasei Europe R&D Center was opened in CHEMPARK Dormagen, offering local technical support and strengthening cooperation and joint development with European companies and universities. In the almost five years since it was founded, Asahi Kasei Europe has built up a strong network in Düsseldorf. The annual “Asahi Kasei Europe Business Forum” has developed into an established conference and networking event for customers and partners. In addition, the company sponsors the sports city of Düsseldorf and actively supports the traditional Japanese judo sport. Judo workshops are held annually with young, enthusiastic judo-ka at the Lessing-Gymnasium in Düsseldorf.

Tsutsumi continues: “Düsseldorf is a major hub for business activities in Europe and is in close proximity to technical universities. With this move, we are clearly speaking out in favor of our home location Düsseldorf – a very important sign in times of COVID-19. We are very much looking forward to shaping this next chapter of Asahi Kasei Europe together with our customers and partners ”.
