As Tempelman (Shell) becomes CEO at Eneco | Financial

On 1 July, Tempelman will succeed current CEO Ruud Sondag. Sunday recently announced its resignation, now that the acquisition of Eneco by a consortium of the Japanese groups Mitsubishi Corporation and Chubu Electric Power has been completed. Shell was also in the race to take over Eneco, but lost that battle.

According to Mel Kroon, chairman of the supervisory board of Eneco, Tempelman is the right person to expand activities in the field of sustainability. “He has made his mark as an entrepreneurial leader with vision,” said Kroon.

Tempelman has been working in the energy sector for approximately 25 years. In his own words, he developed a “true passion” for sustainability during that time. He currently holds board positions for Shell in Brunei, Oman and Malaysia.
