Dave said he couldn’t say for sure when the presidential decree would be accepted by members of Commission I of the DPR.
Earlier, Secretary of State Minister Pratikno said that the presidential letter regarding the candidate for TNI commander to replace Andika was made by President Jokowi. They expect to send the letter on Wednesday November 23, 2022. However, surprises are likely to be sent only next Monday, after the President of the DPR Madam Empress return from abroad.

Dave then explained the flow of the mechanism after the presidential letter was received by the DPR. Having received the surpres, the Deliberating Body will fix a plenary session of the Presidential Decree. Then the results of the plenary meeting will become a direction for Commission I to hold a test of fitness and suitability for the candidate for TNI Commander.
As candidates for civil servants, candidates for TNI Commander must go through the stages Proof suitable and correct which is an assessment of whether the individual is competent to fill a particular position.

After completing the fit and proper test, Commission I of the DPR will bring the results to the plenary meeting of the DPR. It is at this plenary meeting that the new TNI Commander will be approved.
“When it’s decided, a letter will be sent to the building so the inauguration of the new Commander can be scheduled,” Dave explained.
As is known, the commander of the Indonesian armed forces, General Andika Perkasa, will retire at the end of this year.
So far no one has spoken about the name Jokowi pocketed to be presented to the DPR. However, several Tempo sources mentioned the name of KSAL Admiral Yudo Margono, who has a strong chance to replace Andika.
