According to Ali, the appointment of Anies as presidential candidate is part of the decision of the NasDem National Working Meeting (Rakernas). So, he said, the relationship between the current government and Anies is not a problem for NasDem. “So there are no problems with the toilet today,” he said.
Earlier, President Joko Widodo or Jokowi commented on the possibility of a reshuffle or change of cabinet ministers. Jokowi did not object when the media asked him if there was a reshuffle plan after the NasDem party announced Anies Baswedan as a presidential candidate.

On 10 October, the general secretary of the Indonesian Democratic Struggle Party or PDIP Hasto Kristyanto directly criticized NasDem. The PDIP, he said, would not interfere with the sovereignty of other political parties to appoint anyone.
“Only for political parties that lead President Jokowi – Vice President Maruf Amin are bound by political ethics,” Hasto said at the UGM campus in Yogyakarta.
