“Gym Covic”, “Limitrophes” and “The Covoice 19”: A batch of Lyon artists confined but not sunk, a good dose of 80s and a pinch of digital technology: this is the recipe of TV containment, funny chain that broadcasts the confinement time due to the coronavirus on the internet.
Its dress is reminiscent of papa, even grandpa, with a logo modeled on that of the ORTF, a test pattern – which smiles at the viewer – and a program that looks like it came out of an old Télé-Poche, some semantic pirouettes close by.
From “Gym Covic” to “Clairvoyance” via “Limitrophes” or “Des Friches et des Etre”, Confinage TV has fun revisiting vintage shows via Facebook, YouTube and the Zoom application which allows you to multiply speakers, artists or spectators.

An “interactive television experience”,
The idea of this “interactive television experience”, spotted by the information site Rue89 Lyon, came from Olivier Rey who has been running Lavoir Public for eight years, an eclectic cultural place in the Croix-Rousse district.
No question, for him, of giving in to the idleness induced by confinement: “when we are chased from the scene by the left, we come back by the right”, he said to himself after a few days. A phone call to friends and the adventure was launched.
Confinage TV also draws from a more recent repertoire with “The smallest cabaret in the world” or “The Covoice 19”.

The program schedule is presented every week – since the end of March – by a speaker interpreted by the actress Vanessa Desmaret, from her kitchen or her bed but always with a drink in hand.
“There are a few of us working from Tuesday to Sunday, we have a good laugh but it’s a job anyway. It helps us to cope with the sudden cessation of our trades,” she explains.
Her husband, the director Pierre Desmaret, plays him the Bernard Pivot during a meeting “a little more culture, a little less messy”. Thursday evening, his guests were Mâkhi Xenakis for “Les folles d’enfer de la Salpêtrière” and Jean HansMaennel for “Prisons Mobiles”, works chosen voluntarily in resonance with the period.
