After working on the first three installments of Silent Hill, Masahiro Ito continues to design horrifying creatures and other works as an independent artist. At the moment, the Japanese are busy on a new video game project, as his Twitter account informs us.
“I’m working on a title as a key member of the team”, announces Masahiro Ito, before adding that he hopes not to see this mysterious project be canceled. Known for having designed the monsters of silent Hill (including the famous Pyramid Head illustrated at the head of this article) then occupied the post of artistic director on Silent Hill 2 and Silent Hill 3, Masahiro Ito had also worked on a survival-horror located in Russia, developed at the time by Sony Interactive Entertainment between 2008 and 2010. More recently, he worked on NightCry (2016) and Metal Gear Survive (2018). Masahiro Ito can obviously not say more about this new project for the moment, but he is indeed back in business.
I’m working on a title as a core member. I hope the title won’t be canceled.
