Artis Bute’s solo exhibition / Article / LSM.lv will be opened in Cesis

The solo exhibition will be opened by the painter Artis Bute at the Cēsis Exhibition House. The ArtisCool exhibition will feature more than 20 of the artist’s latest works, dominated by two themes – nature and still life. Art Buti is often called a painting suite, whose handwriting is characterized by Art Nouveau lines. His paintings are decorative, but at the same time elegantly restrained.

Painter Artis Bute packs the last works in the workshop, which will travel to Cēsis Exhibition House in a few hours. The tomcat Giotto is staring at the host in the bustle. Bute considers any exhibition as an exam, which is still afraid not to pass.

“I am also very self-critical of myself and of what I do. And, I don’t know where I got such a job from, because my mother used to shout that I’m so sloppy and nothing will come of me if I don’t change. The main thing is what you want to say with those works, and you answer for every square centimeter. Let it not be polished, so that it is thoughtful and complete. People already feel it, whether it is good or not, ”says the artist.

The exhibition “ArtisCool” brings together the latest works, which are combined in two themes – variations of natural landscapes and classic still life motifs.

There were periods of different color tones in Bute’s work – pink, turquoise, mother of pearl and even gold. This year, the master has chosen to work with pastel shades.

“When working on those meadows in recent years, such calmer tones dominate there. But at the same time, I still have a kind of learning going on. You study, study, and play a lot of randomness. Purely technical, which maybe someone else misses, but with experience and such intuition, you feel that there is something that can be formed, ”says Bute. The artist admits that each painting has its own space, time and also the person she comes to. After putting a signature on the painting, the artist no longer has power.

Arta Bute’s landscapes and still life will be on display at Cēsis Exhibition House from Saturday, July 24, until the beginning of September.
