Arthur Claimed Reluctant to Play for Barcelona in the LaLiga Rest of the Season Page all

KOMPAS.com – Arthur Melo is increasingly close to moving to Juventus. In fact, the Brazilian midfielder claimed no longer wanted to play for Barcelona in the remaining LaLiga this season.

Arthur is still in the Barcelona squad when facing Celta Vigo in the 32nd LaLiga jornada or the top caste competition of the Spanish League on Saturday (6/27/2020).

In the match that ended with the score 2-2, Quique Setien as Barcelona coach played Arthur in the 86th minute replacing Riqui Puig.

After defending Barcelona in the match against Celta Vigo, Arthur then flew to Turin to undergo a medical at Juventus.

Sport reported, Arthur arrived in Turin on Saturday (6/27/2020) evening local time. He was accompanied by his lawyer, Vicente Fores, Barcelona Director Robert Fernandez, and his family members.

Goiania-born midfielder is scheduled to undergo medical tests on Sunday (6/28/2020) morning local time.

After that, Arthur will return to Spain and join the Barcelona squad.

However, recent reports suggest that Arthur prefers to stay in Turin and is reluctant to play for Barcelona again.

The former Gremio player is said to be still upset about the treatment of Quique Setien and is considering not playing for Barcelona anymore, including the remaining six LaLiga matches this season.

Some time ago, Setien had a crush on Arthur.

“He (Arthur) was not the first player to be brought up with high expectations, but it did not produce results,” Setien said.

Setien’s comments were responded to by Arthur’s mother, Lucia de Melo, by saying that Barcelona was only looking for the players’ mistakes.

It is known, Arthur will be part of the bolster exchange between Barcelona and Juventus.

Arthur will join Juventus. Instead, the club nicknamed the Bianconeri I will release Miralem Pjanic to Barcelona.

In its agreement, Barcelona will get an additional 10 million euros (around Rp 160 billion) when Arthur switches places with Pjanic.

Arthur was taken by Barcelona from Gremio for 31 million euros (Rp. 496 billion) in the summer of 2018.

In this season, Arthur had difficulty grabbing a place in the Barcelona midfield. So far, he has only recorded 21 appearances in LaLiga with a contribution of three goals and three assist.
