Arteixo buys the town’s spa with funds from the Amancio Ortega Foundation | Radio Coruña

He Arteixo City Council has formalized the purchase of Spa of the town with funds from the Amancio Ortega Foundation amounting to three million euros. The Mayor has signed the acquisition and will convert the 1,800-square-meter facilities into a socio-cultural center. The complex is made up of three buildings, the one used as a hotel, the bathing area and the old chapel.

The Council of Arteixo explains in a public note that the spa will be a public facility with different social and cultural services of an intergenerational nature, with uses for all ages, after a project to reform and adapt the spaces. The facilities date from the mid-18th century and are part of the history of the municipality. The Amancio Ortega Foundation has also donated the Residence for the elderly, the nursery school and the Civic Center of the town.
