Arsenal of weapons in Chernihiv was found by the police in an underground armory

In Chernihiv, law enforcement officers found an underground armory, which was organized by a 56-year-old local resident in his own garage. The armory was found during a search, which was carried out in the framework of the case of the illegal manufacture of weapons.

The man in the garage was busy altering and re-equipping weapons. He also restored the fighting qualities of small arms converted at the factory.

In two garage premises, law enforcement officers found 40 objects that look like firearms and ammunition, in particular:

• hand grenades;
• various mines;
• disposable grenade launchers of a number of models;
• a rifle and several Mosin carbines;
• five SVT rifles;
• Degtyarev light machine guns;
• Kalashnikov assault rifles;
• PPSh submachine gun;
• PPS submachine guns;
• two heavy machine guns.

The man faces punishment in the form of imprisonment for up to 7 years.
