As part of the ongoing investigations and the call for screening in the slightest doubt since the appearance of the cluster of 6 cases communicated on July 27, 35 new cases have been confirmed by PCR tests within 48 hours in our territory. This brings the cumulative number of cases since the start of the epidemic to 244.

These new cases come partly from the identified cluster but also from other people who went to Saint-Martin or from positive people who traveled to Martinique, Guyana or Metropolitan France. Most of these people have even mild symptoms.
The ARS reminds all those who would be concerned to isolate themselves in order to protect others in case of doubt, to be tested as quickly as possible, and to be followed in a laboratory (the tests are done without medical prescription). The RIPOSTE platform will also continue to join positive cases and contact cases for close follow-up.
This situation is worrying, the prefecture as the ARS renew their calls for the greatest vigilance. The epidemic will start again if the barrier and distancing measures are abandoned. It affects us all.
