Carinthia: sleeping child bitten by fox in hotel room

On Sunday night a fox sneaked into a hotel room on Nassfeld near Hermagor in Carinthia and bit a child – probably twice – in the foot. As the police reported, the parents were shocked when the three-year-old daughter slept in bed, which may have driven the fox away. The animal fled through the open balcony door of the room on the ground floor.

The injured child was brought to the Villach regional hospital with the rescue. There his wounds were treated and further medical clarification took place. The step seal of a fox was secured on the sheet.

There had already been fox bite incidents among guests of the hotel in July. At that time, a 51-year-old man and a ten-year-old boy were injured. Even then, the fox had entered the room at night through open balcony doors.
