Arrests Made in Oman: Two Men Charged with Theft in North Bathin

Muscat: Police arrested two people who committed theft in North Bathin, Oman. The incident in question took place in Saham Vilayam in North Bathin.

The Royal Oman Police has charged the two Arab nationals who were arrested with thefts from five commercial stores in the Zham Wilayat and three different locations in Muscat Governorate. The two men were arrested with the cooperation of the Northern Al Batinah Governorate Police Command and the Muscat Governorate Police Command. Royal Oman Police said in a statement that legal proceedings against them have been completed.

RIYADH: The Public Transport Authority announced that 31,517 violations of traffic laws were found during the inspection conducted in various parts of Saudi Arabia during the month of August. 2,19,369 transport vehicles and 235 foreign vehicles were inspected.

A total of 2,146 inspections were conducted in the establishments operating in the road transport sector. A total of 2102 inspections were conducted in the establishments operating in the maritime transport sector. 31,517 violations were found in the road transport sector and six in the maritime sector. Of these, 2790 violations were detected through cameras.

The overall commitment of people to follow traffic rules last month was 91 percent in the road transport sector and 99 percent in the marine transport sector. Violations of driving without a driving license, driving a transport vehicle without an operating permit, lack of goods movement documents, lack of safety stickers on trucks and lack of authorized safety were found. Violations were also found in taxis, airport taxis and buses. The highest number of violations were found in the Saudi Eastern Province, 7504. 7069 violations were reported in Riyadh, 6668 violations in Makkah, and 1563 violations in Tabuk.
