Armies of flies invade the alternative capital of Sudan.. What is the story? | Mix

Ammon – The city of Port Sudan, the “alternative Sudanese capital,” turned into a colony of armies of flies, as the coastal city was subjected to an unprecedented invasion of flies and mosquitoes. Which made life unbearable.

The coastal city in eastern Sudan is now facing the dangers of the spread of epidemics and deadly, highly contagious diseases, in light of the spread of flies in huge numbers, sharing plates with eaters and cups with drinkers.

Over the past few days, the Sudanese have been busy sharing chilling scenes of chaos and the spread of flies there.

Pictures and video clips also documented markets selling bread and tea covered in swarms of flies.

While people can be seen in the videos repeatedly repelling swarms to no avail.

To the point that sitting or eating food and drinks in the city has become an extremely difficult or almost impossible task after it turned into an area infested with disease vectors.

Port Sudan has historically suffered from a renewed crisis in the availability of drinking water.

It also suffers, like the vast majority of Sudanese cities, from a worn-out and very poor health and environmental infrastructure, and deteriorating sewage systems.

The health crisis in the city has worsened this year after it became one of the favorite destinations for displaced people fleeing the scourge of the brutal war in Khartoum.

Suffering has also increased with overcrowding, narrow spaces, and climate change in terms of rainfall and humidity rates, and lack of attention to health requirements and campaigns to combat flies and mosquitoes.
