Secretary of the Civil Contract faction Artur Hovhannisyan commented on Armenia’s participation in NATO exercises. He pointed out that the authorities made such a decision to increase the combat readiness of the Armenian armed forces, guided solely by the interests of the state. Earlier, the Russian Foreign Ministry addressed Armenia with a request to clarify participation in joint exercises with NATO countries.

On April 6, US Department of Defense Spokesperson Sabrina Singh announced the participation of the Armenian armed forces in NATO military exercises, which will begin on April 22. Part of the maneuvers will take place on the territory of ten European states. All these countries, except Armenia, Georgia, Moldova and Kosovo, are members of NATO.
