Argo AI tests autonomous driving at Munich Airport / LabCampus wins world leading technology company as first customer | News

The next big milestone for the LabCampus innovation center being built at Munich Airport: Argo AI, one of the world’s leading technology companies in the field of autonomous driving, will use the possibilities at the LabCampus to test and develop its vehicle systems in the future. Founded in 2016 and headquartered in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the company has partnerships with the US automobile manufacturer Ford and the VW Group. The latter had invested $ 2.6 billion in Argo AI last year. Since then, Munich has been the European headquarters of Argo AI.

On the basis of the contractual agreement that has now been reached, with the mediation and support of CBRE GmbH, Argo AI will set up a test track at Munich Airport and rent space in the first LabCampus office building LAB 48, which is scheduled to open in 2022. The brokerage brokered almost 95,000 m² for this purpose. On the test track, which is being built not far from the aircraft maintenance hangars in the south-west of the airport, the autonomous vehicles are to be tested under realistic conditions in different traffic situations.
