Argentina U20 Qualify for Round of 16 at U20 World Cup with Win Over Guatemala

Argentina, the hosts, followed the path of the senior team and progressed on the road to the World Cup. In today’s Group A match, the Blue Army defeated Guatemala by three unanswered goals. Alejo Veliz, Luca Romario and Maximo Perran are the architects of Argentina’s success. Argentina’s legendary defender Javier Mascherano is the head coach of the team. Substitute Luca Romero then doubled his team’s lead in the second half. Defender Tomás Aviles scored the third goal with only ten minutes left in the match. Having created history by winning the Under-20 World Cup six times, Argentina’s youth team is aiming for another title.

Argentina’s next match is against New Zealand on Friday, May 26. If the team wins the match, they can advance to the next round as group winners. In the last match, Argentina defeated Uzbekistan with an unanswered goal.
