Michiel ten Horn, who previously made the films The deflowering of Eva van End and Aanmodderfakker and the Netflix series Ares comes with a horror series about goat riders.
In Bucks a young descendant of the goat riders makes a pact with the devil.
“Bokken becomes a fictional, oppressive, supernatural and highly cinematographic series, which connects the dark myth of the goat riders with the present. Growing up in Limburg, this story already fascinated me, “says Ten Horn in a reaction.
“In particular how reality and fiction intertwined. During the research period, I saw more and more parallels with the current situation in criminal Limburg. That is the basis for this plan.”
According to tradition, goat riders were persons or spirits driving through the air. In the eighteenth century, the name was given to violent gangs in what is now South Limburg.
It is not yet clear where and when Bucks is visible.
