In less than an hour the climate changed from positive to negative
The day on the financial markets today had started well, with a marked upward start. But after an hour the weather changed for the worse. It was impossible for operators to ignore and buy.
It’s okay that the stock market always discounts news in advance, but buying today meant being optimistic about the future. And frankly, there are no elements to be optimistic in Europe. Indeed, there is talk of a possible total block at Christmas.
In this less than encouraging scenario, the closing of the Milan stock exchange just below par is a success. However, if you look at the price trend of the whole day, then you understand the doubts that have gripped investors.
Are the markets in the balance now risking big?
The index Ftse Mib (INDEX:FTSEMIB) today started off like a rocket and just before h. 10.00 was already earning a percentage point. It was almost difficult to believe it, considering that it was difficult to see positive news that could fuel the purchases. Evidently the market was discounting the long wave of Friday’s positive session.
But as we wrote above, the rise lasted very little and just after an hour, Piazza Affari had taken back all the gain made in the first hour. The slightly higher opening of Wall Street served to bring the index back on par, which at 16.00 was in the red by almost half a point. At the end of the session, the Ftse Mib index finished down 0.1% to 19,374 points.
Now the operators are starting to question themselves about the next sessions. The uncertainty on the stock market is rising and the question that is being asked is whether the markets in the balance now risk big. If the infections continue to spread and new blocks are needed, would there be a danger of a new stock market collapse?
