Architect Joaquin Torres’ Mother Passes Away, Leaving Him Heartbroken

“My mother left this morning surrounded by love.” With these words the architect of the famous, Joaquin Torres, announced on their social networks her mother’s death. His death has filled him with pain, so much so that he admits feeling “broken emotionally and physically, the void he has left in me is devastating and drags everything down,” confesses Raúl Prieto’s husband, television director.

Torres assures on his Instagram account that “he has left me so much love that it is his best legacy, no one will be able to surpass it.” And part of him “has gone with her.”

The designer and architect is immersed in loneliness and needs time, which is why he asks his loved ones for “patience to be with you again.” He died of an overdose.

A serious accident

Joaquín Torres has been marked by tragedy for a few months. In fact, he finished the year in the hospital as a result of an accident. In a publication on his official profile on the social network Instagram, the architect publishes a video doing everyday things that he could do before the accident, since he spent time on crutches. He accompanies the video with a text in which he assures that “on December 5, my life ‘stopped’ suddenly and without remedy. Far from victimizing me, and from magnifying my accident and its consequencesI accept my new reality, trying to get the most out of my present… I have to admit that it has been difficult for me to process what happened, and above all to understand that we have to live today and now. The life I had stopped, and a parenthesis opened that has helped me a lot to value my old normality. We take so many things for granted that most of us have forgotten to value life. Appreciate that miracle that is waking up every morning, without pain, where a world of possibilities opens up for us so that each day is a challenge, an adventure… I have the feeling that life has passed through me, and not I through life. The years have flown!”

The architect reflects, ensuring that “I have learned that lesson. Today I intend that the days do not pass by me without hardly realizing it, I don’t allow routine to cancel out my passion for life. Today, with pain, and with a life much less interesting than before my accident, I feel fuller and fuller and I value my reality much more.”

And he ends with a message for his followers, whose support has been vital: “One of the aspects that makes me very aware of my enormous fortune IS YOU. I had always been surprised by the enormous support we had and the affection of the people, pBut now I take it as an enormous privilege, an enormous gift that I cannot take for granted. Today I feel that every day I have to live up to all of you… I send you a virtual hug, and all my gratitude.
