AR Rahman Demands Higher Remuneration, Becomes Highest Paid Music Director

Reportedly, music director AR Rahman has increased his remuneration from 8 crores to 10 crores. Local media reported that Rahman demanded 10 crores to compose the music for the new film starring Nani. But there is no official confirmation in this regard. Rahman has demanded twice the remuneration of Telugu music composers. It is reported that the makers of the film have not taken any final decision regarding the music director due to the increase in remuneration.

Recently there were reports that Anirudh Ravichander is the highest paid music director in India. Anirudh gets 10 crores for a film. Anirudh has become the country’s most ‘priced’ music director, beating AR Rahman’s record of Rs 8 crores. No musician has been able to surpass AR Rahman in terms of remuneration in the past several years. Anirudh was paid Rs 10 crore for Shah Rukh Khan’s film Jaawan. With this, Rahman, who came second in the salary, increased his salary from 8 crores to 10 crores after a few weeks. With this, Anirudh and Rahman became musicians who received the same remuneration.

AR Rahman, who reached the top of the world through music composition, has also acquired millions of fans through his singing style. He mostly sings songs in films where Rahman himself composes the music. Rahman gets Rs 3 crore for singing a song.
