Apprenticeship attracts 1,550 visitors to the first work-study forum at the Chartres Métropole Maison de l’emploi

The House of Companies and Employment of Chartres Métropole organized the first work-study forum at Chartrexpo, in the presence of 72 companies and economic players from the territory. Some were there to ensure their development by investing in young people, while others wanted to quickly find candidates capable of integrating their companies.

“The work-study program, formerly set aside and wrongly similar to so-called manual trades or bad students, is finally recognized, even acclaimed. Far from this image of Épinal, it allows the obtaining of a rewarding diploma and a real first professional experience from the CAP to the engineering diploma. In 2021, 650,000 young people, aged 15 to 29, signed an apprenticeship contract in France. The inauguration of this work-study forum took place in the presence of Didier Garnier, vice-president of Chartres Métropole in charge of economic development, Michel Cibois, first vice-president of the Chamber of Trades and Crafts of Centre-Val de Loire, Bruno Rocquain, President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Eure-et-Loir, as well as several business leaders and managers of training centers in the department.

“Our territory had to support this type of training, synonymous with an effective fight against unemployment, particularly that of young people, because when we talk about work-study training, we are obviously talking about recruitment, employment and a winning system. – win between companies and candidates. »

At the end of the day, Sébastien Odon, project manager at the Maison des entreprises et de l’emploi de Chartres Métropole, identified 1,550 candidates present at this first forum in the face of more than 700 work-study training offers: ” A great collective success thanks to our financial partners, the Centre-Val de Loire Region and Europe. »

For Mickaël Tachat, “this success is a strong marker of the need for companies and training organizations to come and meet the public at a time when recruitment tensions are great and the difficulties of finding the right profiles are significant”.
