Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia In less than two weeks, Apple will soon launch the iPhone 15. The flagship HP series is predicted to determine the future of companies bearing the apple logo.

This new line can become the number one smartphone in terms of sales, if the public’s enthusiasm is better than market expectations.

This was disclosed in the TrendForce report. The same report also says Apple and Samsung have the same production target for 2023, quoted from PhoneArenaTuesday (5/9/2023).

However, in the fourth quarter usually Apple will be superior because it coincides with the launch of the latest iPhone. On the other hand, Samsung, which continues to dominate annual cellphone sales, is predicted to be ‘depressed’ this year.

For Samsung, it’s reported the Galaxy S23 series is showing signs of slowing down. Meanwhile, the Z Fold 5 and Flip 5 couldn’t help the company’s sales like other phones.

Apple’s dominance in the market is also predicted by research firm IDC. According to the company, iOS shipments will grow 1.1% amid a 4.7% drop in the HP market.

Apple’s most expensive cellphone, namely the Pro model, is likely to sell better in the market. IDC says consumers will be willing to spend more, even though the device replacement cycle has become longer.

Meanwhile, TrendForce reports that the condition of the smartphone market is still quite sad. During the second quarter, sales fell 6.6% with a total of 272 million units and became the worst achievement in the last ten years.

The easing of Covid-19 pandemic restrictions also could not encourage an increase in the smartphone market. The Indian market is also not a savior in the current situation.

The economic situation that has not improved is another reason why the smartphone market is still sluggish. This causes consumers to be more careful about their shopping habits.
