Apple would be preparing subscription plans for iPhones and iPads, says report

The price of products from Apple in some markets, mainly in Brazil, is one of the most recurring criticisms of the brand. Thinking about it, Apple would be working on a possibility to try to minimize this issue.

According to information from Bloomberg, the proposal would be a subscription service for iPhones, iPads and other hardware products of the company, similar to what is already practiced with vehicles and other objects, for example.

In practice, the idea is that the consumer pays a monthly fee for the device and can exchange it periodically according to the terms of the contract, therefore, always keeping an updated Apple device.

It is worth noting that Apple already offers the iPhone Upgrade Program in the United States. The initiative is carried out in partnership with Citizens Bank and the service’s customer can “pick up” a new branded cell phone every 12 months.

The difference for this possible new service is that it would be offered for much more Apple products and other plan options, even allowing the customer to acquire multiple devices and link them to Apple One and AppleCare+, for example.

The report states that the project is still under development and may be released only at the end of this year or in 2023initially in the US and can be extended to other countries, such as Brazil to boost sales.

wanted by Bloomberg, Apple declined to comment on the matter.
