Apple Will Use Self-Developed iPhone 5G Modem Starting in 2023

ZONABANTEN.com – Apple plans to partner with Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. for the production of its own 5G modem for the iPhone.

Apple plans to use TSMC’s 4nm process node, which is not yet used for any commercial products.

Modem appears to be being designed and tested at 5nm before moving into mass production in 2023 at 4nm.

Qualcomm, which is a dominant player in the industry and manufactures modem components for the entire iPhone 13 lineup.
