Apple TV + works on the James Bond music documentary ‘The Sound of 007’

A new documentary exploring iconic music from the James Bond franchise is in the works on Apple TV +, according to reports.

2022 marks the 60th anniversary of the 007 film series, and the new documentary – titled The Sound Of 007 – will follow Apple TV + ‘s first documentary in the world of Bond, after they released James Bond: The Daniel Craig Story a early this year.

According to Deadline, the new documentary will be produced for Apple TV + by MGM and Eon Productions and will be broadcast in October 2022, the month that marks the 60th anniversary of the premiere of the film starring Sean Connery, Dr. No, the first of James bond

The new documentary is directed by Mat Whitecross and produced by John Battsek.

The news of the new documentary comes after the long-awaited and delayed release of No Time To Die, Daniel Craig’s latest film as Bond.

In the No Time To Die review, NME wrote: “With so much at stake thanks to COVID decimating cinema, No Time To Die producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson should be applauded for taking some bold risks. The astonishing ending, in fact, may be the greatest in Bond history.

“Yet when the credits finally roll in in Daniel Craig’s last hurray, all those difficulties fade into the background. If we didn’t know, we’d say he even seems to have had a good time.”

Regarding the future of the character, producer Barbara Broccoli has said that James Bond could be non-binary in the future.

While there is speculation about who will replace Daniel Craig in the role after No Time To Die, the producer appeared on the Girls On Film podcast and reiterated that Bond will remain a man.

However, when asked by presenter Anna Smith about the possibility of a non-binary 007 in the future, Broccoli replied, “Who knows, I think it’s open, you know? We just have to find the right actor.”
