Apple sues Pegasus spy software maker

Apple is suing NSO Group, the Israeli company that developed the controversial Pegasus spy software. Apple asks the court to prohibit NSO Group from using any devices or software from Apple ‘to prevent further abuse and damage to its users’.

A consortium of journalists revealed that Pegasus was spying on journalists, politicians, activists and business leaders from different countries.

“State-backed actors like the NSO Group spend millions of dollars on ingenious spy technology without really being held accountable for it. That has to change,” said Craig Federighi, Apple’s senior vice president of Software Engineering. “We take any attack on our customers very seriously,” he said.
