Apple releases final version of Music web player – Sound and Vision – News

Apple has discontinued the beta program for the web player of its music service Music. That means the version for the web is now final. The web player makes it possible to use Apple Music without an application.

Subscribers to the music service can play music via the music.apple.com web page without having to install an application. This also makes the software available to a larger number of people. During the beta, people still had to go to the url beta.music.apple.com.

The web version of Apple Music came last year, but then came with a beta label, even though it was already available to all users. In total, the beta program lasted about six months. Competitors such as Spotify already had a web player for music playback.
