Apple is replacing batteries for MacBooks with charging problems

These are MacBook Pros from 2016 and 2017 that do not reach more than 1 percent battery charge when they are charged. Users affected by the charging issues can have their MacBook Pro replaced for free, reports Apple. According to the company, ‘a very small number of customers’ are struggling with this battery problem.

The battery status of the affected MacBooks shows the warning ‘Service Recommended’. Users can check this by clicking the battery icon or through System Preferences.

New update macOS

Some old MacBook Pros can be recharged properly after installing the latest macOS update. Apple released macOS 11.2.1 and macOS Catalina 10.15.7 on Tuesday evening. The patches follow last week’s major macOS 11.2 update.
