“Apple iPhone 14 Pro models get Hole-Punch screen”

The rumor has been going on for some time, but now The Elec also confirms it: the upcoming iPhone 14 Pro models will not get a notch but a Hole-Punch screen. Android phones have been commonplace for years, and soon also Apple.

The notch was always an interim solution, an ugly one. Many manufacturers now prefer a screen hole, also called a Hole-Punch. Round and usually in the middle while others prefer a corner. Apple seems for the upcoming iPhone 14 Pro in 14 Pro Max to lean towards the middle.

This is what the iPhone 14 Pro could look like

The screen hole has the advantage that you have more screen space. In many cases, it also falls off during use, more often than with a notch. Apple stayed out of the way for a long time because it has to house Face ID parts in addition to a selfie camera. Where those at the iPhone 14 Pro in Pro Max sitting is still unclear. It can be under the screen, in the edge, but it can also disappear completely. Although the latter option does not seem very plausible.

Not the end of the notch

Apple doesn’t really say goodbye to the notch. the entry iPhone 14 will probably still get it and Apple will introduce it with the newer MacBooks. It’s not all consistent. We are therefore very curious about how and why Apple is partially saying goodbye to this recognizable and also controversial design. Incidentally, the source also mentions a 6.7-inch Max model with notch. With the disappearance of the mini model, the 2022 offer will still amount to 4 iPhone models.
