Apple intends to cancel production of the next generation of ‘iPhone SE’

VillageApple’s chief supply chain analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has revealed that the company won’t be launching a new version of the iPhone SE in 2024.

Kuo wrote in a post on the website Medium that Apple has canceled production and shipping plans for the iPhone SE, after predicting last month that the fourth generation of the phone could be canceled or delayed.

Apple is believed to have canceled production of the phone due to poor sales of its low spec phones.

And in September 2022, a Bloomberg news agency report said that the demand for high-spec iPhone 14 Pro phones is greater than for the standard iPhone 14.

Furthermore, the company fears that any increase in the price of the phones could make them less attractive to low-income buyers.

It is also interesting to note that the analyst (Kuo) and the newspaper (Nikkei Asia) reported in March 2022 that Apple had already reduced the number of iPhone SE devices it planned to produce a few weeks after the phone’s launch.

Apple hasn’t announced phone sales data since then, but cancellation reports could indicate the company doesn’t want to continue making a phone that isn’t in demand, especially as 2023 is expected to be a tough year for Apple. main technology. businesses and the economy in general.

However, there is still time until spring 2024, and therefore the “Ko” leaks are not 100% correct, even if most of his leaks happen, as he says.

But his expectations regarding Apple’s virtual reality glasses, augmented reality, have so far been incorrect, as the glasses have not been announced, although the man expects them to launch during the course of 2022, and then in January 2023.

And on Friday, Kuo said in a tweet on Twitter that Apple’s highly anticipated mixed reality glasses could be announced in early spring 2023.

He added that he believes the company should delay “mass shipping” any product until the second or third quarter of 2023, citing a combination of mechanical and software issues.
