Al-Abyad stressed that “the station has the capacity to provide safe drinking water in Tripoli and the northern regions, and the important thing is to ensure electricity so that it can pump water, otherwise citizens will have to look for other unsecured sources. ”
He added: “Let’s not forget that Tripoli previously suffered from a virus or hepatitis virus, so we focus on the continuity of the work of the Water Authority and emphasize the Ministry of Energy and Water to ensure electricity for continuity of work and water pumping. “
He appealed to supporters of UNICEF and the United Nations for “greater support, especially in this circumstance (cholera), because in the absence of safe and clean water, the spread of the epidemic will be rapid”.
The minister sent a message to citizens who have wells to “collaborate with the authorities or municipalities to examine their water in the laboratories, and make sure it is germ-free”, referring to “an initiative of the Ministry of Health that will be announced later to help citizens and ensure wells are germ-free. ”
