Aphelion cannot be seen directly, because it is not a phenomenon of the appearance of celestial objects.
The National Institute of Space and Aviation (Lapan) said Aphelion is a phenomenon when the Earth is at its farthest point from the Sun.
According to Lapan, this year’s Aphelion will occur on July 6, 2021, to be precise at 05.27 WIB or 06.27 WITA or 07.27 WIT at a distance of 152,100,527 kilometers.
So, does Aphelion have an impact on human life on Earth?
Head of the Dissemination Division of the Lapan Space Science Center, Emanuel Sungging, said Aphelion had no direct impact on human life on Earth.
He said Aphelion is a space phenomenon that usually occurs every year.
“It’s just an ordinary annual phenomenon. It means, it’s been half a year since the Earth has traveled around the Sun,” said Sungging when contacted by Kompas.com, Sunday (4/7/2021).
Sungging also said that the cold temperatures recently felt were not because the Sun was at its furthest point.
According to Sungging, the cold temperature was caused more by the dynamics of the atmosphere.
