For a few days, Respawn Entertainment and Electronic Arts share the usual pre-season videos fromApex Legends, used to present us the new features to come in the game. a trailer introduced Rampart, the Legend from Season 6 Propulsion, and we were then able to discover his background through a History of the Wilderness. To end the week, here is now a trailer of gameplay.

Rampart and his machine gun Sheila ensure the spectacle, especially since it will be able to carry out fire of cover well protected behind a force field. The other star of the video is of course the game card Edge of the World, which has undergone quite a few transformations on the part of Hammond Robotics, as detailed on the official site, without relying on the crafting already mentioned and which we quickly see in practice.
WHAT WERE OUR GOALS FOR BORD DU MONDE?
The main purpose of updating a map is to inject a little novelty into the launch of a new season: new configurations to discover, new rotations to use and new strategies to master. It is also an opportunity for designers to improve the overall flow and gaming experience on the map, while correcting weaknesses noted by the community.
The first step was to identify the points to improve for Season 6:
Enrich (and improve) the gameplay in the part of the map covered by lava.
Provide better rotation options to get out of some particularly narrow waypoints.
Propose a new map mechanic conducive to new combat scenarios.LAUNCH SITE
Hammond Industries continues to gain ground at Edge of the World. They are preparing a dirty trick … I would put my hand to cut! The Launch Site is located west of the Dome, in a lava field that was previously unoccupied. The huge rocket rises above the center of this new point of interest and can be seen from as far away as the Refinery.
This new drop point includes four large control centers to neutralize and many areas to loot. Squads can land there en masse to deploy and progress through the lava through the elevated walkways, to remain the last team to survive.
One of the coolest things about the Launch Site is that it offers new possibilities for rotation in this part of the map. A new passage has been created in the cliffs towards the eastern part of the Tree.
The path leading to the Sorting Plant now ends in front of the main building of the Launch Site, offering a breathtaking view of the southern part of the plant.
New possibilities open to you to exit the Dome, the Launch Site being located right next to it with a path leading up to the Tree. If you’d rather go down the hill towards the Sorting Plant, a new geyser has appeared in the lower basin: a quick way to gain height and get over that ridge if the ring is dangerously tightening.
COUNTDOWN
The Drill Site has been replaced by the Décompte, another large Hammond center whose usefulness is unknown.
This point of interest is designed as an imposing fortress protected by an elevated enclosure and three dynamic walls that can be activated to reinforce the defense in the event of an enemy approach from Skyhook, the Lava Crevasse and the marshalling yard (more ‘info below!).
The large control centers are separated by a large central pit. It is possible to search the pit for better loot. Tempting, isn’t it? But beware, because it is watched from all sides. Make sure you have secured the area before venturing there!
COMPLEX
The Complex is a smaller point of interest, but has the advantage of being in the heart of a busy area in the center of the map. This new drop zone replaces a small town that was located below the railway line leading east of the Collector. It promises much more interesting fights and much more enticing loot.
Say goodbye to that small town in the center of a small pit, as the new setup pushes players higher at the edge of the area, with two additional dynamic walls to navigate the breach to the railroad track. Cars stopped on the track serve as both covers and elevated platforms to facilitate movement to the control center.
Also nearby is the departure of the Voyage de Mirage, Mr. Witt having left Edge of the World aboard his personalized transporter… at least, temporarily.
DYNAMIC WALLS
Dynamic Walls are a new mechanic in the Edge of the World map. They can be found at the Launch Site, Count and Complex points of interest. The huge dynamic wall rises by activating a control panel, creating a defensible platform and permanently fortifying the position of the team that was lucky enough to control the area first.
If you attack a wall that is defended, it is still possible to make your way from below or bypass it by taking another path nearby. If your Legend has the power of verticality, you can always go over it.
DIRECT PASSAGE FROM THE CAMP TO SKYHOOK
Heading east from the Encampment, you can now take a new passage that allows you to cut straight through the cliffs and railroad tracks to Skyhook. This new shortcut is perfect for getting out of Skyhook and should be Encampment a drop zone or a more viable rotation option.
Rail tunnels also have plenty of loot and other cover areas in this area, so expect more possibilities (and resistance) in this part of the map.
OTHER ADJUSTMENTS AND MINOR ADDITIONS
The train is no longer running!
In season 6, the train was taken out of service and its cars were parked all over the edge of the world tracks.
A small detail that changes everything, since it allows us to offer more rotation options at certain particularly interesting (or disturbing, depending on the point of view!) Waypoints. In almost all of the tunnels that had to remain clear for the passage of the train (and were therefore rarely used), there are now stationary cars and other items for cover, as well as small amounts of loot. .
Besides the geyser that appeared north of the Dome, another has arisen south of the Lava Crevasse, which makes crossing the Sulfur River a bit easier.
We should still be entitled to a few videos early next week until the launch of the Season 6 scheduled for August 18 for PS4, Xbox One and PC. Versions Switch, Steam, iOS and Android d’Apex Legends will see the light of day at the end of the year. Editing Lifeline of the game is sold for € 12.07 on Amazon if you ever want to add a physical box to your collection.
