The National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa) determined that they be deported the four Argentines who, according to the agency, lied to enter Brazil and face the Brazilian team this Sunday, in the South American Qualifiers.
The entry into Brazil of Argentine players Emiliano Martínez and Buendía (Aston Villa) and Cristian Romero and Lo Celso (Tottenham) was considered irregular by Anvisa. According to the column, the agency has already notified the Federal Police.
In an official note, Anvisa says it received “unofficial news” about the case and then called epidemiological investigation authorities to investigate the situation of the Argentines. “In view of the confirmation that the information provided by the travelers was false, Anvisa clarifies that it communicated the fact to the Federal Police, so that measures within the scope of the police authority can be taken immediately”, says the agency.
Anvisa still considers “notorious non-compliance” with the Interministerial Ordinance nº.655/2021, which would force the four Argentines to comply with quarantine upon arriving in Brazil, after all they were in England for the last 14 days, which is considered a restricted area.
“Anvisa considers the situation to be a serious health risk, and for this reason, it advised the local health authorities to determine the immediate quarantine of players, who are prevented from participating in any activity and must be prevented from remaining in Brazilian territory”, warns the agency.
According to the agency, the Argentines committed an immigration crime, in violation of law 6437, article 11.
