Dutch singer Antoon is the most streamed artist on Spotify this year in the Netherlands. Antoon had hits in 2022 with Hello in Oliviaand was therefore more popular than foreign artists such as Ed Sheeran and The Weeknd, who finished in second and third place.
Canadian rapper Drake and French DJ David Guetta are in fourth and fifth place in the Netherlands. The Swedish streaming service announced it today, without providing exact data on audiences.
Puerto Rican rapper Bad Bunny leads the list of most streamed artists worldwide, followed by American singer Taylor Swift and Drake and The Weeknd. South Korean K-pop group BTS rounds out the top five. Bad Bunny has also made it to No. 1 globally for the past two years.

In the past year, more Dutch than foreign artists were in the top 20 in the Netherlands: 11 versus 9. And the top 20 most played songs contains twelve songs by Dutch artists.
In the top 10 of the most listened to songs in the world there is also a song from 1985: Running up that hill (a deal with God) by Kate Bush finished in tenth place. The 37-year-old record skyrocketed thanks to the fourth season of the Netflix series Stranger thingsin which the song plays a leading role.
