Antonio Subranni, the former commander of the ROS carabinieri, has died

“The general passed away in recent days Antonio Subranni, after years of suffering”. This was announced by the FI group leader in the Senate, Maurizio Gasparriin a note in which he expresses “closeness to his wife, daughter Danila and the whole family”.

The unfair trial

“I met General Subranni – continued Gasparri – and I appreciated his value in the field as an authentic protagonist in the fight against organized crime and I saw his example as an upright carabiniere. For years he suffered an unfair trial by the judiciary of Palermo, which ended with an acquittal that perhaps came too late. And I am sure that his body also suffered the consequences of this unjust judicial aggression. I apologize to the family if I break their admirable confidentiality. But I think that someone who has having known the Italian events, should publicly honor General Subranni, his memory and his example”.

Condolences for the daughter

“I have always supported his action, his work and even during the legal proceedings I have always affirmed his honesty, which the sentences only confirmed too late. Today there is someone crying in pain while someone else perhaps needs to cry of shame.” The blue deputies also express their condolences, addressed in particular to his daughter Danila, one of the historic spokespersons of the party: “To Danila Subranni and her family, our most sincere and affectionate embrace for the passing of our dear father”.
