Coronavirus situation worsens in Latvia

In total, the coronavirus was laboratory-confirmed in 183,239 residents of the country, of which 2,881 died (12 in the last day).
Over the previous day, 2,799 cases of coronavirus infection were confirmed in Latvia, which is the highest figure since the beginning of the pandemic. About this on Saturday, October 16, writes Interfax-Ukraine with reference to the Center for Disease Prevention and Control of the Republic.
The day before, 2,142 cases of the disease were recorded in the country. In total, COVID-19 was laboratory confirmed in 183,239 people, of which 2,881 died (12 in the last day).
Meanwhile, the number of partially and fully vaccinated residents of Latvia exceeded one million: 53.47% of the population received at least one dose of the vaccine, and 49.18% have already completed the vaccination process.
Note that the population of Latvia is 1.9 million people.
As reported, in Russia on October 15, the increase in cases of coronavirus COVID-19 amounted to 33,208 cases, and the number of deaths – 1002. Both indicators are record-breaking for the entire time of the pandemic.
