Antequera has the first taxi fully adapted to transport passengers with wheelchairs, thus helping people with reduced mobility to make their journeys more easily.
Manuel Barón, mayor of Antequera (Malaga), has advanced that the objective now is to have a second vehicle of these characteristics.
“It took a lot of effort due to the steps that had to be taken, such as the acquisition of a new vehicle by taxi driver José Berrocal, awarding the municipal subsidy, managing the subsidy itself or adapting the model acquired to the established standards. of the European Union”.
For his part, the deputy mayor delegate for Safety and Traffic, Ángel González has indicated:
“Initiatives of this type are the things that truly improve people’s quality of life, since in the end what we want is to cover fundamental needs.”
The total amount of the investment has been 40,400 euros, of which the Antequera City Council has contributed 10,000 euros as a grant.
