Another 600 people were confirmed infected with the new coronavir virus in Lithuania last day, but the disease caused by the virus Covid-19 claimed the lives of one person, the Statistics Department announced on Tuesday.
15,761 tests were performed last day, thus the proportion of positive tests was 3.8%. A total of 4,513,698 analyzes were performed in Lithuania.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, a total of 294,708 people have been diagnosed with the new coronavirus in the country.
The Covid-19 virus disease has claimed a total of 4,498 lives in Lithuania.
The hospitals currently treat 480 Covid-19 patients, 58 of whom are in resuscitation. 36 patients require artificial ventilation of the lungs, while 397 patients are treated with oxygen masks.
According to the Department of Statistics, the 14-day cumulative number of infections per 100,000 population in Lithuania on August 24 has increased to 275.7.
A total of 1,617,008 people have been vaccinated against Covid-19 in Lithuania, including 1,446,347 people have been vaccinated
